BRCA 235/Rubber/Trucks Round 2

Halifax track hosted the 2nd round of the BRCA 10th ic rubber/truck/235 National and Serpent F1 challenge this weekend. The weather was looking good and the racing kicked off just after 9.30 with Mark Straughton and Bev Walton running race control, the turn out for this event was the best of the season so far, a credit to the superb Halifax facility.
Qualifying
Glyn Beal was the man to beat in 235 taking top spot, not far behind team dremel drivers Lee Chapman in 2nd and Mark Christopher in 3rd followed very closely by Karl Dransfield in 4th
In the rubber class Simon Wood (Serpent) was 8 seconds up on Stephen Lander (CML) and local driver Paul Knapton put in a excellent time to take 3rd with his Mugen after a 6month break from the hobby.
In the trucks Matthew Williams put in an impressive performance with his Serpent 720 to take TQ from Matty Cook also driving a Serpent in second with Team Dremel driver Richard Boult in 3rd with his Xray.
Glyn Beal was also flying with his F1 car taking top spot in qualifying from Matthew Williams by a lap.
Finals
The first A final to run was the Trucks with Richard Boult Team Dremel taking top spot followed closely by Matthew Cook then Richard Spenser a couple of laps down.
Glyn Beal carried his qualifying success forward to the final, to take the win by 6 laps from Lee Chapman. Local driver Karl Dransfield taking 3rd from Mark
Christopher in 4th.
The Rubber class saw Simon Wood taking an early lead in the final only to brake down 20 mins in leaving Stephen Lander to take the win from Paul Knapton in 2nd
and Ryk Pryke in 3rd
The F1 class saw only 2 drivers start the final and again Glyn beal took the win with John Russell finishing in 2nd.
