Notes From The AGM

Well last Tuesday  11-11-08 saw the 2008 AGM take place in the club house attended by over 30 members coming to vote for this year’s committee and congratulate the winners of the summer series.

The membership fees are to remain the same for the coming year although the BRCA membership has increased, following the committee’s recommendation.

Jeff Walton, seconded by Stuart Hansord proposed a new electric sports class to be added to the race heats this class is designed to make racing cheaper for people to start racing

This class would have a controlled motor (HPI Saturn 20) at a cost of £5.99 on any on road chassis any ESC and any servo with any TC-GT –F1 or racing truck shell and powered by any 6 cell (7.2v) Nicad or NiMH  or 2 cell (7.4v) Lipo batteries

It was also decided that the newsletter would be submitted to the web site and not posted out to the membership as in previous years.  ANY information NOT for public viewing will be posted out in a news shot, anyone wishing to submit an item for the newsletter please contact Mark Newby either by email or at the track on club days

National Competition Round Up

1/8 IC
With only 1 round remaining in the series club member Tim Wood is leading the championship by only 1 point to Serpent factory driver Mark Green and Chris Heath also a club member only 5 points behind Tin in 3rd place so it’s ALL to race for.

200mm Touring Cars
With Kyle Branson having a 9 point lead over Robin Hammett and Mark Gilliland 1 point behind him, 1st place looks very promising for Kyle but 2nd place is all to play for in the last race of the series at the Cotswold meeting this Saturday

1/10 Scale Rubber
With Stephen Lander having a 13 point lead in the series it would appear inconceivable that he could loose the championship ,but with Ryk Pryk in 2nd only 3 points ahead of Michael Ball the meeting at Wrexham could make for interesting racing

IC Truck
With 7 rounds completed Richard Boult has won this years IC Truck competition with club member Matthew Williams taking 2nd place the battle is on for 3rd between Simon Smith And Jerome Evans both with 578 points each

235 Sports GT
Yet again Glyn Beal has won the series for 2008, but the battle for 2nd and 3rd is up for grabs between club member Karl Dransfield and Jim Beesley
Wrexham is looking like the place to be next weekend to see some great racing

1/10 Electric
Schumacher Dominated the Pro stock series this year with a win for Glen Westwood followed by Rob West who just beet Dominic Carter by 1 point.
Yet again Chris Grainger won the modified series with his Yokomo beating  X-ray driver Ben Cosgrove in 2nd place and Olly Jefferies 3rd place

WELL DONE EVERYONE
